The Zoning Board of Appeals is comprised of five regular members and three alternate members. They are appointed for 5-year alternating terms and are appointed by the Board of Selectmen. The Board meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month for business meetings and as posted for public hearings. The ZBA acts in a quasi-judicial capacity on the issuance of certain special permit applications, petitions for variances from the Zoning Bylaws and appeals from the acts of the Building Inspector. The Board has the power to receive testimony under oath. Most decisions of the ZBA may be appealed by an aggrieved party to the District,Superior or Land Courts. |
